A  Maurice man has pleaded guilty last week to shipping methamphetamine to Louisiana.

The Department of Justice has reported 36-year-opld Eric Perrin pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Perrin previously lived in Arizona where he met other individuals who used the drug. He later used his Arizona connections to have methamphetamine packaged and delivered to him in Louisiana. Perrin scheduled a packaged delivery of drugs to his home on August 12, 2013. Law enforcement agents intercepted the package, made a controlled delivery and arrested Perrin. Law enforcement agents found approximately 260 grams of methamphetamine in the package.

Perrin faces five to 40 years in prison, at least four years of supervised release and a $5 million fine.

The court set sentencing for April 6, 2018.
