Louisiana born writer Nic Pizzolatto's True Detective series on HBO was a huge hit! And Matthew McConaughey says that he would do more!

McConaughey signed on to True Detective season 1 BECAUSE it wasn't going to lock him into a series. The story was meant to be a one-off season.

"If HBO had wanted an option on me for a Season 2 or 3, I wouldn’t have done it," he tells Deadline.

But now that it's all over, and the praise for the show was so great, his tune has changed.

"I liked True Detective, the whole series and the experience of making it, so much that I'd be open to doing another one now," he says.

Don't get your hopes up too high, though. The next season is slated to have THREE stars. All new cast. All new detectives. All new crime(s). All new setting.

But who's to say it can't be an American Horror Story situation, where actors play different characters in different seasons and stories? oooOOOOOOoooo!!!
