If you got online over the weekend you may have seen this photo.

The story behind it is just as heartwarming as the image itself. Shayla Harwell shared the photo that she snapped on Saturday at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The picture showed her husband, Thomas, carrying an elderly woman up the stairs after she was struggling to climb them, this according to Harwell.

She was having a rough time. I nudged my husband and told him that they may need help.

After Thomas helped the elderly woman to her seat, he stuck around until the rodeo was over to make sure she was able to exit the arena without any issues.

According to CNN, Harwell is a senior captain with his volunteer fire department in Hardin, a town that is about 50 miles outside of Houston. Even when he's off the job, Harwell is always ON the job, saying that it's "in his blood to help people."

I helped her downstairs, and I wasn't going to leave until I helped her upstairs.

Based on her grin from ear to ear, the elderly lady definitely appreciated the gesture. Hopefully, Harwell's kindness going viral will inspire someone else to do the same.
