Thankfully South Louisiana hasn't endured any more rain over the past couple of days, providing an opportunity for drainage. However, there are still many areas where major flooding and high waters are an issue.

In Lafayette around Paul Breaux Middle and Heymann Park area, floodwaters are still a serious issue. Located right on the Vermilion, whenever we take on rain like we did this past week, this area is obviously very susceptible to flooding.

It's hard to believe looking at these pictures, but the water has actually drained. You can see the waterline of leaves and debris in some of these pictures showing just how much higher the water was.

Clearly, the area around Heymann park is impassable and will stay that way for quite some time. Thankfully this week's forecast seems to be playing nice and giving us all a chance to dry out.

Hopefully, it stays favorable.
