LSU Football Adds Former Alabama Receiver Aaron Anderson Through Transfer Portal
The transfer portal giveth and the transfer portal taketh away. The former, however, pertains to the latest news to come out of Baton Rouge.
Former 5-star recruit and Louisiana native Aaron Anderson announced via Twitter on Sunday that he will be playing football next season for the LSU Tigers.
Anderson comes to the Tigers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he just completed his freshman season. However, he did not record any stats after suffering an injury early in the year.
Anderson played his high school ball at Edna Karr in New Orleans, so he'll be right at home in Tiger Stadium.
The 5-foot-9, 184-pound wide receiver was originally committed to LSU before Ed Orgeron was fired. He then flipped his commitment to Coach Nick Saban in Tuscaloosa last December.
The Tigers continue to stack up on receivers for next season. Check out the tweet below that highlights the position depth for LSU in 2023.
While Anderson is the first transfer commitment for LSU's 2023 class, the overall class already features 25 high school commitments, which ranks No. 7 according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. (Ironically, and to no surprise, Alabama tops this list.)
The LSU Tigers will conclude its 2022 season with an appearance in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on Monday, January 2, 2023, as they take on the Purdue Boilermakers. Kick-off for the contest is set for 12:00 pm at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
