A 23 year old Louisiana woman is facing attempted second degree murder charges after she allegedly tossed her toddler out of her moving car.

Franklin Parish sheriff's deputies arrested Lasasha Allen after she was seeking medical treatment for her 20 month old daughter, whose injuries included a fractured skull and several broken bones.

The toddler is in stable condition.

After giving investigators different accounts of what happened, Allen came clean that she intentionally tossed her daughter out of her moving car.

Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb had this to say from Nola.com:

"She told the child's father the girl fell out of a window of the car and hurt herself and said her intention was to get a reaction from him so he came back,"

The father didn't have the reaction that Allen sought, so she set up the scenario to intentionally hurt her child, and cover up the lie she told the child's father.

"She thought going around the curve the child would only receive minor injuries and she would get the attention she wanted and prove she was not lying," Cobb said. "We feel like this was premeditated and she was doing this for her benefit.

"It was a horrific act on her part. I hope the district attorney sees this case for what it is and justice moves quickly. All we can do at this point is pray for this child."

Allen's 7-year-old daughter was also in the car when the toddler was tossed from the vehicle. Allen has five children, all of whom have been taken into custody by Child Protective Services.
