Louisiana Senator Kennedy Lectures Mark Zuckerberg [Video]
As predicted Louisiana Senator John Kennedy would have a "good day" when Facebook CEO and Founder Mark Zuckerberg testified before the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.
Zuckerberg was in front of the committee to explain how and why personal data from Facebook users were being shared, sold, given, or stolen and winding up in the hands of people and companies unbeknownst to users of the social site.
Kennedy, who made a name for himself earlier this year by destroying a potential candidate for a federal judge position, was ready to make his points with Zuckerberg too.
At one point during his questioning of Zuckerberg Kennedy came right out and said that Facebook's terms and conditions sucked. That happens about 1:50 into the video.
He also reprimanded Zuckerberg and others for not putting that kind of information into "English, or non-Swahili" that happens about 2:35 into the video.
As you might imagine Mr. Zuckerberg defended his company's practices but in my opinion did seem to project an air of understanding and empathy with what Senator Kennedy was suggesting.
Was that simply a show for public consumption? I guess we will all find out when we see what changes if any the social media site will be making as a result of this time before Congress.
