Out of the 12 "southern" states, Louisiana has the lowest unemployment rates according to a new survey released today!

This goes to show that our workforce is expanding and our economy is growing, says Gov. Bobby Jindal.

Seasonally-adjusted figures released Friday (May 16) by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show that there were 95,000 unemployed Louisianans in April 2014, compared with 93,400 in March.

Louisiana's unemployment rate is at 4.5% right now, which is the 10th lowest rate in the United States. This compared to a year prior the rate was at 6.4%.
