The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Friday, June 26th.

There have been 54,769 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. There are 1,354 more reported cases since yesterday.

LDH says they have implemented a new process for improved de-duplication and parish assignment of data received from labs around the state.

Numbers show that there are 700 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized - 47 more than yesterday.

73 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 4 fewer patients since yesterday.

The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 3,077, an increase of 26 since yesterday.

As of today, 39,792 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 2,775 more recovered patients since last week.

The total number of coronavirus cases that have been in the Acadiana region is 5,063 with 247 total deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 1,862 total cases, 41 total deaths

Iberia Parish: 610 total cases, 44 total deaths

St. Martin Parish: 638 total cases, 26 total deaths

St. Mary Parish: 426 total cases, 38 total deaths

(Up 11 reported cases, Up 1 reported death since yesterday)

St. Landry Parish: 578 total cases, 57 total deaths

(Up 38 reported cases, Up 0 reported deaths since yesterday)

Acadia Parish: 783 total cases, 36 total deaths

(Up 38 reported cases, Up 1 reported death since yesterday)

Evangeline Parish: 168 total cases, 1 total death

Vermilion Parish: 220 total cases, 5 total deaths
