The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Wednesday, June 24th.

There have been 52,477 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. There are 882 more reported cases since yesterday.

LDH says they have implemented a new process for improved de-duplication and parish assignment of data received from labs around the state.

Numbers show that there are 631 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized - 15 fewer than yesterday.

77 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 6 fewer patients since yesterday.

The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 3,039, an increase of 18 since yesterday.

As of today, 39,792 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 2,775 more recovered patients since last week.

The total number of coronavirus cases that have been in the Acadiana region is 4,534 with 237 total deaths reported. According to Dr. Tina Stefanski, regional medical director of the Office of Public Health in Acadiana, 31 of the cases reported today for our region are from a backlog of 2 commercial labs – testing dates range from 3/23-5/29.
