Largest Bet Ever Made at L’Auberge Baton Rouge Pays Off Big Time
I'll admit, I don't really understand sports gambling all that much. What with all the point spreads, plus/minus odds, parlays, and the like, it can be a little overwhelming.
But I do understand if you bet $1 and get $2 back, that's the goal in wagering -- to win!
It happened big time over the weekend in Baton Rouge. And no, it didn't involve the Alabama-LSU game.
The folks at L'Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge posted on Facebook on Saturday that someone had placed the largest ever made at their property.
Someone placed a $127,000 2-leg parlay involving two of college football's premiere match-ups over the weekend: Texas Tech at TCU and Tennessee at Georgia.
As you'll see on the ticket below, TCU's point spread was -1.5 while Georgia's was at -2.0. The parlay was -125 in total.
You guessed it, both teams won and covered their respective spreads. Georgia knocked off Tennessee by a final of 27-13 and TCU defeated Texas Tech 34-24.
So, by the evening, this bettor cashed in for a $100,990.40 profit ($227,990.40 total).
A second wager involved just the Georgia/Tennessee game and that ticket was for $73,000. It hit and the payout was $140,160.
It was not made clear if the same person placed both bets or not. At any rate, it was a nice haul.
While this was, according to the casino, the largest bet ever made at L'Auberge Baton Rouge, do keep in mind that their Barstool Sportsbook just opened on October 21st of this year. We're sure there will be even bigger wagers made soon enough.
