Just because the rain has stopped falling heavily, does it mean that the flooding is over. In some areas of Acadiana, it has only just begun.

In Lake Arthur, residents are under a mandatory evacuation. The evacuation starts at 4PM on Tuesday afternoon. The evacuation was originally to begin on Monday, but pushed back so residents of Lake Arthur could collect sandbags and help from getting water into their homes.

With the help of volunteers, residents are piling sandbags around Lake Arthur, to make the levee that surrounds the lake, just a little higher by a few inches.
