A bomb threat called in to the Acadiana Mall has caused Lafayette Police to evacuate the building.

LPD spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says officers are on scene searching for any dangerous devices and working to clear the situation. He says once the threat is clear, the Mall will be reopened. But for now, no one is being allowed in until further notice.

Alton Trahan with the Lafayette Fire Department says his department is no longer on the scene as LPD told them they were no longer needed.
