A Lafayette man has been sentenced to life for a 20-16 double murder in Cade.
Thirty-two-year-old Derrick Siner is headed to prison for life after pleading guilty to a double murder.
Siner admitted to killing of 30-year-old Jamie James, and her mother, 68-year-old Adeline Etienne, at the Rosepine Mobile Home Community in Cade in February 2016.
He's been sentenced to a life behind bars without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors say that after the murders, Siner set fire to their mobile home.
He was arrested after he crashed a vehicle into the Vermillion River in Lafayette Parish. Then he stole another vehicle and crashed that one in St. Francisville following a high-speed pursuit.
