Lafayette Husky Wins National "Make Your Pet A Star" Photo Contest

The winner of the national "Make Your Pet a Star" photo contest is a husky from Lafayette.

The contest was hosted by Zoetis, the world's largest producer of medicine and vaccinations for pets and livestock. The company asked people to submit photos of their pets, then based 50 percent of the contest on the number of votes each photo received.
The rest of the contest was based on a score assigned by independent judges using the following judging criteria: originality/creativity (60 percent) and relevance to category theme (40 percent).
Bydas is the Lafayette husky whose photo was submitted with the caption, "What do you plan on doing with that sandwich??"
His owner is Juleia Mikhael.
According to the Zoetis website, Bydas will receive the following prizes: a one-year vet and grooming services package valued at approximately $1,500; a monthly shipment of the preferred gourmet pet food; a one-year subscription to your pet's favorite magazine; a $100 gift card for the purchase of your pet's favorite toys, and a pet star portrait.
