UPDATE – Lafayette Fire Department Responds To Call At City Bar Downtown

"According to fire officials, an audio speaker wire shorted, activating the sprinkler system and fire alarm. Officials say any fire that may have happened was extinguished by the sprinkler.

The club suffered only minor water damage.

Firefighters are still inspecting the sprinkler system, but officials say they will be leaving the scene by 9 a.m."

Lafayette Fire Dept. is on the scene now at City Bar Downtown.

"The Lafayette Fire Department is now on the scene of a fire at City Bar on Jefferson Street.

No reports on whether anyone was injured during the fire.

We will work to update the story, and post new information as it comes in."

No word at this time what caused the fire or the extent of any damage.
