Lafayette Filmed Movie ‘Fightville’ Premieres Here Wednesday Night [Video]

MMA fighting has enjoyed a spectacular rise in popularity, now even being featured on major TV networks. Acadiana is a hotbed of activity on the MMA scene, and now the film 'Fightville' tells the stories of those that aspire to win in the physical world of fighing.

Filmed over the couse of two years here in Lafayette, the film explores the host of MMA talent in the Acadiana area as seen by local promoter Gil Guillory. The film also chronicles the rise of UFC star Dustin Poirier as he fights his way to the top, with the help of his trainer and mentor Tim Credeur.

"Fightville" will premiere on Wednesday, April 3 at 8 p.m. at The Grand 16, located at 3141 Johnston St.
