Former Flyleaf vocalist Lacey Sturm is back making new music! The singer recently dropped by our studio to talk about her solo album Life Screams, living the impossible and performing Flyleaf tracks on her upcoming tour.

Lacey Sturm's Life Screams will hit shelves on Feb. 12. She was inspired to write after noticing an absence of positive themes on mainstream radio. "When I was growing up, it was good to have somebody that could relate with the darkness that I was going through, but at the same time if it just left me there, it actually was destructive in my life," Sturm tells us. Lacey's own past as a heavily depressed and suicidal youth also encouraged her to tell fans, through music, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Lacey has already shared the single "Impossible" from Life Screams. She's been encouraging fans to live the impossible via an online campaign, so we asked what parts of her life Sturm used to think would be impossible to achieve. Though she's a platinum-selling musician, her answers were humble, like being able to buy a couch for the first time, not having had one growing up with five other siblings in a small apartment.

We also get into Flyleaf a little bit during our chat. Lacey is planning to tour in support of Life Screams and the good news is you'll be able to hear her play a number of Flyleaf songs. However, she doesn't want to steal Flyleaf's crowd away from them, so don't expect a set filled with old favorites.

Watch Lacey Sturm talk about Life Screams, living the impossible and which Flyleaf tracks you'll be able to hear her sing live in the video above!
