Knife & Punch Stopping Real Life Batsuit Is Low Budget

Prop-maker Jackson Gordon (dude's already got a fancy alter-ego name, a la Bruce Wayne) has built a real life Batsuit that stops knives and punches! And he did it on a low budget!

Gordon built the suit out of kevlar, impacting-absorbing foam, and plating. The suit ends up being a 25lb. flexible, mobile suit that withstands punches, knives, and clubs. Unfortunately, the suit does not withstand bullets...yet.

As far as cost, the Batsuit in the Nolan universe costs around $300,000 according to the calculations by Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman). Gordon's Batsuit? $2,000. No, I'm not missing a zero there. Just two thousand dollars!

Gordon's full Batsuit isn't on sale yet, but you can get started by pre-ordering the cowl for just $275. The cowl is made from polyurethane resin to resist slashes, and provide some impact protection. The eyes are covered with steel mesh to avoid eye-poking assaults.
