Jessica Lange Opens Up About Leaving ‘American Horror Story’

In my opinion, Jessica Lange has been the best thing about American Horror Story. So, it was sad to hear that she would be leaving the series after season 4. It turns out there's a pretty good reason as to why though. Keep reading to find out more.

Jessica Lange is gearing up for retirement after a 4 decade stint in the biz. I'd say she's earned it!

“It ends up being a lot of time during the year being committed to something. I haven’t done that for a long time. It’s like doing a stage play between the rehearsal and the run. This is a 6-month commitment every year. That will be four years in a row. I want to have more time to myself I guess. Once it’s over and I have a full year ahead of me with nothing to do, who knows?
“I am coming to the end of acting. I have a list: another stage production, maybe one or two more movies, one more season of American Horror Story, and then that is it for me. Because I think that’s enough. I want to go out with a bang, or should I say, a scare?”

Co-creator and producer Ryan Murphy weighed in on Lange leaving the series saying that she'll have a great juicy part in season 4.
