Jeanerette Man Drives Two Cars Into A Ditch

A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputy was called out to a single car crash on Highway 182 around 12:30 Sunday morning.  The man failed to negotiate a curve in the road, and he drove into a ditch.

The deputy says 42-year-old John Banks showed no signs of impairment, and the car was fine, so Banks was released on a summons to appear in court.

The car was towed.

Almost five hours later, a deputy was called out to a single car crash on Pepper Road near Highway 90 in Jeanerette after John Banks drove another car into a ditch and a tree.

Banks was booked with reckless operation of a vehicle, then released on a summons to appear in court.
