There's quite the ball rolling on the next installment of 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'. Peter Parker will have a new love interest, as Mary Jane has been cast for the film. And now they've found themselves a villain in Jamie Foxx. Foxx is slated to play Electro in the next Spider-Man movie.

From Screen Crush:

What will surely be controversial for some, Foxx is an African-American actor playing a white character for the comics. (This should hardly be a controversy and was done previously with Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin in ‘Daredevil.’)

Electro first appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man #9″ in 1964. The character was repairing a power line when he was struck by lightning and found himself with the ability to control electricity. He was approached by Magneto (of the X-Men universe) to join the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants but would eventually join up with the Sinister Six; Spider-Man’s most feared foes including Vulture, Kraven, Doctor Octopus, Mysterio and Sandman.

In addition to Electro and Mary Jane, producers are looking to cast a younger actor to star as Harry Osborn, the eventual Green Goblin.

What do you think? Do you like Jamie Foxx as Electro or should they have chosen a different actor?
