Texas Town Looking for People Named Kyle to Set New World Record
Calling all Kyles!
The town of Kyle, Texas is putting out the call for anyone named Kyle to gather in a few weeks to set a new world record for the most people with the same first name gathered in one place at one time.

The great state of Texas is no stranger when it comes to interesting world records.
Texas holds the world record for The Largest Published Book, The Largest Aerial Image Formed by Drones, The Largest Blue Crab Sculpture, The Largest Fire Hydrant, The Largest Tamale Sculpture, The Largest Squirrel Sculpture, and many many more.
These records not only highlight the cultural and natural diversity of Texas but also reflect the state's penchant for "big" achievements in various fields.
Now, the town of Kyle, Texas is holding their "Gathering of the Kyles" in an attempt to set a new world record for the most people with the same first name gathered in one place at one time.

"Last year, the city of Kyle attempted to break a world record for the most people with the same first name gathered in one place at one time.
The 'Gathering of the Kyles' was held during the Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza on May 21 and was attended by 1,490 Kyles from all over."
The town of Kyle, Texas attempted to break the world record in 2023 with their inaugural "Gathering of the Kyles" but unfortunately fell 835 Kyles short.
The current Guinness World Record for people with the same first name gathered together at the same time in the same place is held by Kupreski Kosci in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In July of 2017, 2,325 people named Ivan gathered to set the world record.
This year's "Gathering of the Kyles" will be held at the Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza Saturday, May 18 with the official counting of the Kyles happening at 1pm.

"This year, all Kyles are encouraged to pre-register for the gathering online or on-site at the Kyle Fair from 4 p.m.-10:30 p.m. on on Friday, May 17, and from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. There is no cost to participate or register in the gathering and entry to the Kyle Fair is also free.
The city said all participating Kyles will be given a free Kyle Fair T-shirt, while supplies last. Kyles of all ages are welcome to participate but will need to provide proof of identification."
To participate, your legal first name must be Kyle. Your name must be spelled "Kyle". No middle or last names will be accepted.
This will be the city of Kyle's 5th attempt to break the world record.
