Texas Lottery Reveals Big Win in Monday’s Powerball
The only thing hotter than the temperatures in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Muleshoe Texas is the lottery luck that Texas Lottery players keep experiencing. It seems as though every time there is a Powerball drawing or a Mega Millions drawing the eyes of the lottery world turn to Texas to see who won what and for how much.
Monday's Powerball drawing was no exception. The game featured a top prize of $126.6 million for an annuitized jackpot when the ping pong balls were dropped. Here is the result of the dropping of those balls into the Powerball Lottery hopper.
The way we saw those balls land was like this:
05 09 32 39 55 Powerball 09 Power Play x2
Use those numbers for reference but please do verify your tickets by checking them against the details posted on the Official Powerball Website or the Official Texas Lottery Website. Those sites allow you to review multiple ticket numbers. They also have redemption information if you purchased a winning ticket. Lord, knows we all want to get paid, right?
A late-night check-in with our sources in Austin at the Texas Lottery has confirmed there were two big money tickets sold in Texas for the July 1, 2024 Powerball drawing. Each of those tickets matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball. One of the tickets opted for the Power Play option. So the prize payout for one ticket is $50,000 and the payout on the Power Play ticket is x2 or $100,000.
At Powerball Headquarters in Cllive Iowa, our sources there confirmed that no ticket sold across the game's footprint matched the numbers needed to claim the $126.6 million jackpot. So, that amount will grow to an estimated annuitized $138 million for Wednesday's drawing. The lump sum payout on that prize would be $65.8 million. Yes, that is an estimation.
Meanwhile, tonight's Mega Millions jackpot is $137 million. That game has seen a lot of Texas winners in the past few weeks. Including a $3 million win in Houston on May 24th and a pair of $50,000 winners sold in Spring, Texas and Hondo, Texas earlier this year.
The drawing time for Mega Millions is 9:59 CDT this evening. Please remember most lottery tickets are not winners so only spend what you can afford to lose. If you have a gambling issue please get help. It's available free of charge by dialing 1-800- GAMBLER. The call and referrals are free. Good Luck.
