Texas Lottery Confirms Texas Mega Millionaire in Tuesday Drawings
Our friends at the Texas Lottery home office in Austin, Texas are going to need to give the "check writer" some "comp time" after all the big winner checks the Texas Lottery has been asked to write in recent days. The past two Powerball drawings have created multiple financial windfalls for lottery players in the state. And, Tuesday's Mega Millions lottery drawing just gave Texas a brand new millionaire.
Tuesday's Match 5 Million winner in the Mega Millions drawing was one of the largest prize wins in Tuesday's game. There was another Match 5 Million winner reported by the California Lottery. So, Texas and California were the two hot spots for winners on Tuesday night.
Here is how the Mega Millions drawing for Tuesday, July 2, 2024, unfolded.
Before the ping pong balls were released from the hopper the estimated top prize in Tuesday's drawing was $137 million. There was no ticket sold for Tuesday's draw that matched the numbers needed to win that prize. Speaking of numbers, here are the numbers that we saw roll out of the hopper.
04 08 19 31 45 Megaball 11 Megaplier x4
Use those numbers for reference but please verify your tickets at the Official Mega Millions Website or the Official Texas Lottery Website. Those sites allow you to confirm your prize winnings and they offer information on how to collect your prize from either your local lottery retailer or your regional Texas Lottery office.
Since Tuesday's big win in Texas was one million dollars or more we do have point-of-purchase information for you on last night's million-dollar winner. Our sources at the Texas Lottery say the million-dollar ticket was sold at a 7-ELEVEN Store on Midway Road in Dallas, Texas. We do know the ticket purchaser opted for a quick pick when choosing their numbers and they did not opt in for the Megaplier. If they had their one million would be four million.
As we mentioned there were no tickets sold that won the jackpot so the Mega Millions top prize will climb to an estimated $162 million for Friday night's drawing. Meanwhile, tonight's Powerball drawing will be for an estimated jackpot of $138 million. That drawing is scheduled for 9:59 this evening.
Please note that most lottery tickets purchased are not winners. Therefore you should only spend what you can afford to lose anytime you play the lottery. If you have a gambling problem there is help available to you. Call 1-800-GAMBLER. The call and the referrals are free. Good Luck.
