Texas Lottery Confirms Saturday Powerball, Lotto Winners

As the sun was coming up Sunday morning over Houston, Austin, and San Antonio the dust was just getting settled from a busy night of life-changing wins compliments of the Texas Lottery, Lotto Texas Extra! and the multi-state lottery game Powerball. It was a good weekend to play the lottery in Texas and no matter which draw game you played, there was at least one big win to discuss.

Powerball is the game most of us gravitate toward. The game is played in 45 states as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It's known for its huge jackpots and while the current jackpot isn't in record territory, it would have been nice to win it all on Saturday night when the top prize was estimated to be $73.3 million.

If you didn't see it unfold on Saturday, here's how the Powerball drawing for June 22, 2024, unfolded.

Saturday's drawing did not produce a jackpot winner but there were two tickets sold that matched all five of the white balls. The Match 5 Millionaire tickets were purchased in Ohio and Virginia. Meanwhile, in the state of Texas, our sources at the Texas Lottery in Austin are confirming three big-money winners.

Those sites can not only help you review a number of tickets but can offer guidance on how to collect your prizes should you be holding a winner of any prize amount.

The Texas Lottery confirmed two tickets sold for Saturday's Powerball were worth $50,000 and another ticket sold in Texas matched four of five white balls and the Powerball just as the $50,000 winners did but that ticket opted for the Power Play option and the prize amount is doubled to $100,000.

The Texas Lottery doesn't provide point-of-purchase details before a winner comes forward on prizes of less than $1 million, so you will certainly want to double-check your numbers.

And if you played Texas Lottery Lotto Texas Extra! There is a good reason to check those numbers too. The top prize of $28.5 million was not won on Saturday but four tickets sold for the June 22, 2024 drawing matched five of the six numbers drawn, those tickets are valued at $13,302. The Lotto Texas Extra! jackpot will jump to $29 million for tonight's (Monday) drawing.

The Powerball on Monday will feature an estimated top prize of $84 million. That is the annuitized amount. The lump sum payout will be an estimated $40.4 million should you match the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize.
