Texas Lottery Confirms Powerball Win Wednesday Night
As the lights are slowly starting to flicker back on in southeast Texas and other areas affected by the wind and weather associated with Hurricane Beryl we are pleased to report that electricity isn't the only "power" that's been generated in the Lone Star State in the past 24 hours. The "power" we're speaking of is the Powerball Lottery game and the Texas Lottery has confirmed Wednesday's drawing was quite lucrative for more than a few Powerball players.
The last time the Powerball jackpot had a big winner was a little over a week ago. A ticket sold for the July 3rd drawing matched the numbers needed to take home a top prize of $139.3 million. That ticket was sold in Ohio. And since that drawing the Powerball jackpot has been climbing.
The estimated annuitized jackpot for Wednesday, July 10, 2024, was $39.9 million. Here is how that drawing played out last night.
The numbers that we saw rolling out of the hopper were:
07 11 12 27 46 Powerball 26 Power Play x3
Use those numbers as a reference but please verify and confirm your tickets at the Official Powerball Website or the Official Texas Lottery Website. Those sites will not only confirm your winnings but offer instructions on how to claim your cash. And a lot of Texas Powerball players have some money they need to claim.
The Texas Lottery Powerball Big Wins page shows that 84 tickets sold for Wednesday's Powerball game earned a prize of $100. There were an additional 38 tickets sold for Wednesday's drawing that earned a prize of $300. You can probably figure out the $300 winners opted to participate in the Power Play option the game offers.
Our sources at Powerball did reveal that no ticket sold across the game's footprint matched the numbers needed to claim the jackpot prize of almost $40 million. There were two Match 5 Million winners from last night. Those tickets were sold in Washington and Massachusetts.
Meanwhile, our sources in Austin at the Texas Lottery have revealed three Texas tickets were big winners from last night. There were two $50,000 winners and a $150,000 winner sold in the Lone Star State for Wednesday's game. The Texas Lottery does not reveal point of purchase details on prizes of less than $1 million.
We should mention that our sources across the state line at the Louisiana Lottery did confirm a $150,000 winner was sold in that state for last night's game. The winning ticket was sold in Frierson, Louisiana which is just across the Texas line in Desoto Parish Louisiana. So, if you happened to be fueling up at the Relay Station Truckstop there, you most certainly want to double-check those numbers.
The Powerball jackpot will now climb to an estimated annuitized jackpot of $54 million when they draw again on Saturday night. The lump sum payout on Saturday is expected to be about $25.6 million.
Please note that while we often write about big winners in lottery games most tickets sold are not winners at all. So do play responsibly and only spend what you can afford to lose. If you have a gambling problem call 1-800-GAMBLER. The call and the referrals are free. Good Luck.
