Texas Lottery Confirms 2 New Texas Powerball Millionaires Monday
What's the old adage? Bad news comes in "threes"? If you ask Texas Lottery players who play Powerball in Corpus Christi, Hempstead, San Antonio, or Gainesville, they'll say good news must come in "twos". That's because for Monday night's Powerball drawing the Texas Lottery has revealed not one but two brand-new Texas millionaires.
The double dose of good Powerball news wasn't the only good fortune to come bounding out of the hopper with last night's ping-pong balls. Our sources at the Texas Lottery offices in Austin say Monday's drawing produced seventy-seven $100 winners and thirty-seven three hundred dollar winners, in addition to the two new Match 5 Millionaires.
Here is how Monday's drawing for July 29, 2024 unfolded.
The numbers that we noted rolling out of the hopper were:
11 27 30 33 44 Powerball 16 Power Play x3
Use those numbers for reference but please verify your tickets via the Official Powerball Website or the Official Texas Lottery Website. Both of those sites allow you to input ticket numbers, verify winnings, and arrange prize pickup should you be fortunate enough to win.
The top prize in Monday's Powerball game was $142.6 million for the estimated annuitized jackpot. The lump sum payout was estimated to be $67.9 million. But all the estimations were for naught as no ticket sold across the Powerball landscape matched the numbers needed to win the big money.
But we can confirm via the Texas Lottery that two tickets sold in Texas for Monday's Powerball game did "Match 5", all the white balls, to claim one million dollars each. The million-dollar winners were sold at Fuel Depot in Hempstead, Texas. The other million-dollar winner was sold in Corpus Christi at the Stripes Store on Everhart Road.
If you're holding one of those tickets congratulations, make sure you sign the back of it. That will make it easier for you to collect your winnings and will help minimize the risk of fraud.
The top prize in tonight's other multi-state lottery game, Mega Millions, is estimated to be $331 million for the annuity or $156.2 million for the lump sum. That drawing is set for 10 p.m. tonight Texas time.
