Major Crash and Scattered Debris Close I-10 West in Louisiana
UPDATE: The interstate was opened to traffic later Sunday afternoon after the scene was cleaned up and safe for travel.
Louisiana State Police and other agencies are working on a major crash on Sunday morning, June 30, 2024, on I-10.
According to State Police, the crash happened on Interstate 10 westbound at LA 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish.
Four 18-wheeler trucks were involved and over 40,000 candles were scattered across the interstate and median.
Traffic is diverting from LA Hwy 415 north to US Hwy 190 west.
The Department of Transportation is assisting in the clean-up process.
