Louisiana Woman Allegedly Kills Husband, Child in Apparent Murder-Suicide
Livingston Parish sheriff's deputies responded to an apparent murder-suicide scene near the town of Albany yesterday morning where they found three people dead.
Deputies were dispatched to a home on West Bates Road in Hammond around 8:00 am on Monday, July 1, where a man, woman, and juvenile were found dead.
During an afternoon press conference, Sheriff Jason Ard said that investigators believe that Jenny Williamson shot and killed her husband, both 49, and then an eight-year-old before shooting herself.
Sheriff Ard said:
Upon arrival, three bodies were located: an adult male, an adult female & and a juvenile. Detectives are on scene now. You will see crime scene tape as we continue to process the evidence along with our First Responder Partners. From what we have seen so far, this appears to be a murder/suicide. Let’s all pray for this family and for those on scene.
The incident is believed to have occurred either late Friday or early Saturday. Ard also confirmed that the child was not related to Jenny.
Authorities went to the home after getting a phone call from a concerned family member. That person said the two adults had lived in the parish for around a year and were believed to have moved there from Jefferson Parish.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office at (225) 686-2241 x1 or Capital Region Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
