Louisiana Pilot Dies in Ultralight Plane Crash
A pilot in Acadia Parish has died after a plane crash north of Church Point, Louisiana.
Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson confirms that the pilot of an ultralight plane died on the scene of the crash and the Federal Aviation Administration is now investigating the crash.
The crash happened Tuesday afternoon when the plane went down in a field off LA 95 (Pitreville Highway) and Sonnier Drive.
It is still too early in the investigation to say what may have caused the crash, but we will continue to follow this developing story from Acadia Parish.
The Acadia Parish Coroner's Office identified the victim as Nick Van Houten, 47, of Sunset.
