(Breaux Bridge, Louisiana) - A Louisiana State Police trooper who responded to a report of a disabled vehicle on I-10 ended up finding four individuals who allegedly are connected to an organized crime group.

According to Trooper First Class Peggy Bourque with the Public Affairs Section of State Police, the situation began to unfold in the early morning of Monday, March 10 on I-10 in St. Martin Parish.

What Happened When Troopers Arrived At The Scene?

Troopers were called out to assist a disabled vehicle on I-10 near Breaux Bridge, and while helping out the motorists, they saw signs of drug activity. While conducting their probable cause search, they seized 30 grams of marijuana along with 100 ounces of promethazine.

Troopers made the following arrests:

  • 18-year-old Jhlon Cabell
  • 17-year-old Domynic Foster
  • 18-year-old Kalese Jackson
  • 18-year-old Armonie Roland

What Charges Are Each Suspect Facing?

Each of the suspects was arrested on various charges:

Jhlon Cabell was arrested for Resisting an Officer, LA RS 40:966 – Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule I, LA RS 40:970 – Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule V, and a warrant for felony theft and fraud charges in Florida, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Domynic Foster was arrested for LA RS 40:966 – Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule I and LA RS 40:970 – Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule V.

Kalese Jackson was arrested for LA RS 40:966 – Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule I and LA RS 40:970 – Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule V.

Armonie Roland was arrested for LA RS 40:966 – Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule I and LA RS 40:970 – Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule V.

According to Bourque, State Police detectives worked together with investigators from the Milford, Massachusetts Police Department to ultimately find these suspects are part of a larger criminal organization.

What Else Did Troopers Discover?

After getting the search warrant for the Jeep, they found the following:

  • $5,700 in stolen and fraudulently obtained electronics
  • Stolen clothing
  • Stolen gift cards
  • Stolen bank cards

Bourque says troopers were able to disrupt a multi-state criminal operation.
