Officials with Lafayette Crime Stoppers say they need help in identifying a man who is seen on a Ring camera as Lafayette Police say the man is wanted in connection with a burglary of a home.

This video was captured on the Ring unit, and police want to speak to this person in connection with a burglary of a home that happened near East Simcoe. The video is :30 seconds long, and if you can identify this man after watching the video, you are asked to tell police about it.

Having your home broken into in the state of Louisiana is defined the following way by Louisiana law:

The unauthorized entering of any dwelling, vehicle, watercraft, or other structure, movable or immovable, or any cemetery, with the intent to commit a felony or any theft therein, other than as set forth in R.S. 14:60.

Someone who is convicted of burglary can be subject to the following according to the law:

whoever commits the crime of simple burglary shall be fined not more than two thousand dollars, imprisoned with or without hard labor for not more than twelve years, or both.
