Inmate Nearly Escapes From Louisiana State Prison ‘Angola’
An inmate in the Louisiana State Penitentiary nearly escaped from the facility after allegedly stabbing someone.
WBRZ reports that an inmate made his way to the roof of the facility after allegedly stabbing another inmate. The inmate who was stabbed received non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
The inmate who made it onto the roof was taken into custody by authorities on-site and was reportedly shot with a non-lethal "bean bag" round.
As reported by the news station, two inmates escaped from the facility in 2013 but were later captured by police.
According to Wikipedia, Angola is the largest maximum-security prison in the United States, with 6,300 prisoners and 1,800 staff.
