Some residents in a Lafayette, Louisiana neighborhood are upset that flags have been erected on utility poles.

News 15 reports that someone attached flags to utility poles along Brentwood Boulevard and the person(s)) who did this did not get permission from the city to do this.

The flags attached to the poles represent various branches of the military, and some are even the Thin Blue Line flags you see associated with police departments.

According to News 15's report. some on social media are not pleased with the flags on the poles as they seem them be a danger to those nearby. Some say that the flags could fall off of the poles and injure someone or become projectiles when a storm sweeps through.

While some support the flags, others see the flags as a way to divide those in the neighborhood.

I will note here that I've seen some on social media applaud the American Flags that have been hung along the boulevard in the Lafayette neighborhood.

The City of Lafayette does have an ordinance that prevents anyone from attaching anything, signs or flags, to utility poles on public grounds.
