Lafayette Consolidated Government has announced that a section of a downtown Lafayette road will be closed for the next couple of months to make repairs.

E. Vermilion Street between Lee Avenue and Taylor Street will be closed from August 1 through October 7, 2024. The closure will allow for drainage infrastructure repairs within the roadway.

While this is a short section of roadway, it will cause motorists to detour if they're coming from Johnston Street and heading towards Parc Sans Souci.
