“So much to say about Segus I don’t even know where to start. SJ Davis started with the Junior Police with us at the Opelousas Police Department. This news today just hit different. He was definitely a soldier. Gone too soon my brother in blue. Praying for the family. This is hurting a lot of us. R.I.P my brother.”

Though I did not know him well, I did work with him a couple times, his bravery and commitment displayed in his duty is a testament to the character and spirit of many who wear the uniform. We honor his memory and extend our deepest sympathies, prayers, and love to his family, his friends, and fellow officers. Rest in peace, knowing your sacrifice will never be forgotten.”

“Definitely one of the best cops and people around. He was always such a good person. Every time I ran calls with him, I knew I was always safe and knew we were bound to have a few laughs, no matter the situation. This one hurts. Prayers to Alexis, his kids, and all of his family and brothers and sisters in blue. RIP Segus.”
