According to Chelsea, Tater’s owner, the incident occurred on Sunday, November 17, 2024, between 5:50 PM and 6:00 PM. The couple found Tater, a dog with his leash still attached, near the back of the gas station located next to Ollie’s. Surveillance footage captured the individuals placing Tater into a white Audi before leaving the area.

While Chelsea is grateful that the couple was able to catch Tater and get him off the busy street, she is now turning to the community for help identifying the pair so she can be reuinted with her family's beloved pet.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Chelsea wrote:
"Please share to help us identify who they are so we can get in touch with them! 🙏🏼" She added the hashtags #FindTater and #WhereIsTater, urging the Lafayette community to spread the word.

Tater’s disappearance has sparked a wave of support online, with residents sharing the post across social media. Many have also expressed hope that the couple in question might see the posts and come forward.

The family is asking anyone with information about the couple or the white Audi to reach out immediately. Lafayette is known for its strong sense of community, and the family hopes that same spirit will help bring Tater home.

If you recognize the individuals or the vehicle, please help by contacting Chelsea directly or sharing the information on social media. Let’s bring Tater back to his loving family!
