Family members, friends, and loved ones are anxiously seeking the whereabouts of a beloved local DJ, who ventured to Baton Rouge to attend a concert and has not been heard from since.
The South Louisiana community is in mourning as news spreads of the tragic passing of local DJ "Jazzy" Jeff Leon, who had gone missing over the weekend after attending a concert in Baton Rouge. 😪
The community has rallied together in an effort to locate "Jazzy" Jeff Leon, who disappeared following a Friday night concert on August 11th.
According to posts circulating on social media, "Jazzy" Jeff Leon attended a Chris Ardoin concert in Baton Rouge late Friday evening (Aug. 11). However, his journey took an unexpected turn when he reportedly stopped at a gas station in Baton Rouge for fuel.
Unfortunately, communication from him was cut off at that point and he still hasn't returned home, prompting increasing concerns among those who know and care about him.
Latasha Leon, Jeff's wife, took to social media early Sunday, August 13th, to organize a search party based in Henderson. In a heartfelt message, she expressed her determination to find her missing husband. The group was set to convene at Miss Mamie's Casino in Henderson around 9:30 to 10:00 AM, with plans to search extensively across East Baton Rouge Parish, particularly the basin and its surrounding areas. Latasha Leon urged anyone who could lend assistance to join the search, emphasizing the value of collective efforts in this time of crisis.
As the search continues, some key details have emerged about Jeff Leon's last known whereabouts.
He was driving a tan full-sized Ford SUV with distinctive factory wheels, which were captured in images obtained from a gas station. These images offer a potential lead for those who might have encountered him or observed his movements.
The South Louisiana community is doing all they can to help Leon's family at this time. Authorities have been alerted to the situation, and anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to come forward and aid in the search effort.
The situation is developing, and loved ones are holding onto hope for his safe return.
