As many Louisiana families face tighter budgets this holiday season, The Good Fight Foundation is once again coming through with its annual Thanksgiving Meal Pickup.

Helping Families Feeling the Struggle

With the recent disruption to SNAP benefits and lingering effects from the government shutdown, many households are struggling to make ends meet. From federal workers still trying to recover to families who saw delays in benefits, the need for support this year is higher than ever.

The Good Fight Foundation, led by Lafayette native and former UFC legend Dustin Poirier, announced that it will give away 500 full Thanksgiving meals to families in need. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 26, at Prejean’s in Carencro, beginning at 8 a.m.

What Families Can Expect

Each vehicle will receive one meal kit, complete with a spiral ham, green beans, yams, bread rolls, stuffing, seasoning, and an aluminum pan for prep. The event is first-come, first-served, and traffic will be directed by local police due to anticipated turnout.

“While there may be a line, please be patient,” organizers shared. “Dustin and the team will be working diligently to make sure everyone gets the help they need.”

Poirier’s Impact Goes Beyond the Octagon

Though Poirier announced his retirement from the UFC earlier this year, his impact off the mat continues to grow. Through The Good Fight Foundation, he has championed efforts such as school supply drives, hurricane relief, and community food distributions, utilizing his platform to uplift families across Acadiana.
