This past weekend while I was parked and waiting to pick up one of my kids from work in the Ambassador Town Center, I saw something that genuinely surprised me.

I saw something that happened not once, but three times in the span of roughly 10 minutes.

To the three young men who were at the Ambassador Town Center shopping this past Sunday, I saw what you did.

Ambassador Town Center Lafayette, Louisiana

Ambassador Town Center is a popular shopping and dining spot in Lafayette, Louisiana. It's located at the busy intersection of Ambassador Caffery Parkway and Kaliste Saloom Road.

You'll find major retailers like Costco, Target, and Dick's Sporting Goods, making it a go-to place for shopping.

If you're hungry, there are plenty of places to grab a bite, whether you're in the mood for something quick or want to sit down for a meal.

Opened in 2016, Ambassador Town Center has a little bit of everything, making it a great spot to spend a day out in Lafayette.

One of my kids works in the sprawling Ambassador Town Center, so I'm there quite often giving rides to and from work.

Obviously, sitting in the parking lot waiting, I see quite a few people, and see quite a few things, both good and bad.

People can do some weird things when they don't think anyone is watching.

One of the most common things I see is littering, and unfortunately I see it way more frequent than you would expect.

Sometimes you'll see people dangerously speeding through the parking lot.

Sometimes you'll see people embroiled in heated arguments.

On one occasion I even saw someone running full speed out of a store after they had clearly just stolen something.

All of that being said, the negative things I've witnessed aren't that frequent thankfully.

This past weekend I saw something happen that caught my attention, and to my surprise it happened a total of three times in the span of about 10 minutes.

What I saw was impressive, and the age of the three young men who did this is equally as impressive.

Shortly after I pulled into a parking spot, I saw a young couple walking out of Five Below toward their car.

My best guess is that they were both still in High School.

When they got to the car, the young man opened the passenger door for his girlfriend, then walked around to get in the driver's seat.

It was a welcomed sight and an outstanding gesture of chivalry and politeness.

What impressed me wasn't so much the fact he opened the door for his girlfriend, but more so his age. Clearly, his parents are doing the whole parenting thing quite well.

Only a few minutes after seeing this welcomed action of class and kindness, I noticed another young couple leaving a different store walking towards their car.

They appeared to be about the same age as the first couple, somewhere in their teens.

To my surprise, once they got to their car, the same thing happened: The young man quickly rushed ahead to open the passenger door for girlfriend.

Seeing this happen twice in the span of just a few minutes honestly made me smile. It was inspiring and warming to see young teens being such gentlemen.

But, then a third teenage couple began walking to their car parked right beside me.

As I'm sure you've already guessed, it happened again. The teenage boyfriend opened the car door for his girlfriend before getting in himself.

Three young men over the course of roughly only 10 minutes, each displaying heartwarming manners and kindness for others.

So, to the three young men at the Ambassador Town Center this past Sunday, I saw what you did, and it was inspiring to see.

To the parents of these three young men, you've done a fantastic job with your sons, and I thank you for it.

The kids are alright.
