Where Will the Gulf Coast's Newest Resort Be Located?

While in other places, namely the smaller businesses, such as campgrounds, RV parks, and fishing charters, have struggled for two decades after the storm. But we've got good news to share with you today about a new beach resort that's open in Harrison County, Mississippi.

For those who are geographically challenged, Harrison County is the county that's right next to Louisiana once you cross the Mississippi line. So, it's pretty close. Harrison County is where the I-10 Buc-ee's opened last June.

The new resort will be open on Henderson Point in Harrison County and will feature a lot of amenities packed into a 3-acre footprint. Tiger Beach Resort, as the property will be called, is the first business to open on that location since Hurricane Katrina's devastating wind and waves.

The project is powered by the owner of the Blind Tiger Restaurants, Thomas Genin. The resort will be on the eastern shore of Bay St. Louis beside Mallini Bayou. For the convenience of guests, a water taxi will operate between the resort and Bay St Louis. It's a 1.8-mile boat ride.

There are already beach cabanas in place along with a long dock and pier space. Later this spring, the resort will introduce charter boats, inshore tours, boat rentals, and jet ski rentals, too.

What Amenities Are Planned for the Gulf Coast's Newest Resort?

There will be an on-site eatery featuring casual dining and picnic boxes for those who want to make the trip to Ship Island for a picnic. There will also be an elevated menu featuring grilled meats, seafood, fish, and other delicacies. That restaurant should be in full operation by Labor Day.

Guests can also expect a full tackle and bait shop on-site. That will be operated by Louisiana-based Marsh and Bayou Outfitters. There will also be a gift shop offering essentials for fun at the beach and out on the water.
