Saints Legend Jason Pierre-Paul Leaving Team, Signing With Miami Dolphins
After spending basically just one week with the Black & Gold, the veteran pass rusher is taking his talents to Miami to play for the Dolphins.
Pierre-Paul was signed to the Saints' practice squad on Nov. 16 and was elevated to the active roster for this past Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
In the game, Pierre-Paul played 17 snaps and recorded two tackles. But after the game, he was reverted back to the practice squad, making him eligible to be signed by other teams.
Miami seemed to have a need for the three-time Pro Bowl defensive end as they lost linebacker Jaelan Phillips for the rest of the season after he suffered an Achilles tear in Friday's win over the New York Jets.
It is also a bit of a homecoming for Pierre-Paul as he grew up in nearby Deerfield Beach and played his college ball at South Florida.
For his career, the 34-year-old Pierre-Paul has tallied 629 total tackles, 94.5 sacks, 21 forced fumbles, and 10 fumble recoveries.
Miami will be the fifth team he has played for since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2010.
