Scott PJ’s Coffee Location Announces Unexpected December Closure
SCOTT, La. (KMDL-FM) - For the second time in as many months, a PJ's Coffee location will be shutting down.
An announcement was made yesterday on social media that PJ's located at 809 Apollo Road in Scott will be closing its doors on December 15, 2025.
No exact reason was given for the upcoming closure, but those who have lived in Acadiana for any amount of time can probably point to the extreme competition in this now crowded space.

It was a relatively short tenure for PJ's Coffee in Scott, as the shop just opened in June 2023.
This closure comes on the heels of the coffee shop chain shuttering a location at 1501 West Pinhook just last month. After the Scott store closes its doors, that will leave only a few PJ’s Coffee locations

The New Orleans-based company will be left with only the following stores in Acadiana:
- 1801 Camellia Blvd - Lafayette
- 1137 S Bernard Rd - Broussard
- 2040 N Parkerson Ave - Crowley
While closing locations is never a good thing, PJ's Coffee still operates more than 170 locations nationwide, continuing to promote its New Orleans heritage as a key part of the brand's identity.
The coffee shop scene in Acadiana continues to be a fierce battle with several local players doing well, including Jet Coffee, Carpe Diem, Rêve Roasters, and Classic Cup.
Add in national and regional players such as 7 Brew, Dutch Bros, Starbucks, and CC's either already on the scene or entering the area, we can expect baristas across Acadiana to try and put their best cup in front of us each time we hit the drive-thru or front counter.
