New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas has landed in an all-too-familiar spot -- the injured reserve.

The team announced today that they have placed the three-time Pro Bowler on the injured reserve due to a knee injury suffered in their last game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Thomas will now be out a minimum of the next four games.

The writing was on the proverbial wall yesterday when the team brought in receiver Marquez Callaway for a workout. They signed him to the practice squad today.

It's a reunion for Callaway, who played for the team from 2020 to 2022. He signed with the Denver Broncos in the offseason but did not record a reception with the Sean Payton-led team.

It has been a rough stretch for Thomas in recent years. He's played in just 10 out of a possible 40 games over the previous three seasons.

Hamstring and ankle issues caused him to miss a majority of the 2020 season before he missed the entire 2021 due to an ankle injury. Then in 2022, Thomas played in only three games because of more hamstring issues and a pedal toe dislocation.

The New Orleans Saints (5-5) will travel to take on the Atlanta Falcons (4-6) in a big NFC South showdown this Sunday.

With a win, the Saints will stretch out their lead in the division, but a loss puts the two teams tied atop the weakest division in pro football.

Kick-off for Sunday's game is set for noon and you can hear the game on the radio in Lafayette on 97.3 The Dawg and 103.3 The Goat.
