Missing Louisiana Child Miraculously Found in Woods By Drone

After becoming lost in the woods for hours this past weekend, a missing 10-year-old girl was miraculously found safe by use of a drone.

The drone team's screams of relief and joy when they find her is something you need to hear today.

Missing Louisiana Girl Lost In Woods Found By Drone

On Sunday, September 15, Webster Parish 10-year-old Peyton Saintignan, was reported missing after she became lost in the woods in the town of Dubberly, located 28 miles east of Shreveport.

Immediately search crews were assembled and "multiple law enforcement agencies and hundreds of volunteers began searching for her" as reported by KJAS.com.

From Webster Parish Sheriff's Office -

"During the intense search, a large number of agencies provided personnel and equipment. Those included the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, Minden Police Dept., Minden Fire Dept., Homeland Security, DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Office, David Wade Correction Chase Team and LA Wildlife and Fisheries."

Luckily, Drone Management Services out of Magnolia, Arkansas found out about the search Sunday and joined the efforts using thermal imaging-equipped drones.

Because of the thermal imaging-equipped drones, Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker says that Payton was found at 11 p.m. Sunday.

As you'll see in the drone video of the rescue, Payton was found sleeping on her side on the ground in densely wooded area.

"She was in dense woods roughly 300 yards from where a trail camera had recorded her earlier Sunday morning. She was asleep when we found her. We’ve had her checked by EMS and she is fine, back at home and hungry.”

Once Payton was found by the drone and rescued, you can hear those involved in the search efforts erupt in joy with screams of "Yes Sir, Yes Sir!"

Payton is now at home with her family, safe and sound.
