Fans of former Dallas Cowboys star receiver Michael Irvin are offering prayers for him and his family this morning following the release of a heartbreaking video yesterday. The former star of the "Team that Wears the Star" posted the video while standing outside a hospital earlier this week. Love him or hate him (as a player) you can't help but want to join in the prayer circle for Irvin and his family.

The video was shared on social media by another former Dallas Cowboys star, Dez Bryant.

Irvin's birth mom, Pearl passed away in 2015. His father Walter died in 1983 while Michael was still a teenager in South Florida. In the video it is unclear if the "mom" the former football star is referring to is his stepmother or perhaps his mother-in-law but one thing is evident, the love and compassion he feels for her.

As you might imagine fans of Irvin and the Dallas Cowboys have been rallying around him since the video was posted yesterday. Even some of Michael's former adversaries on the football field have reached out with best wishes and prayers.

If you're not familiar with the services a hospice offers versus the services of a hospital they are actually quite different. Traditional medicine makes a distinction between sickness that is curable and sickness that is not. Hospice care is geared more toward the attainment of a patient's and family's goals in regard to comfort, quality of life, psychosocial issues, and issues with rehabilitation.

Michael Irvin was a key component to the Dallas Cowboys' success in the late and middle 1990s. His talents as a wide receiver helped the Cowboys win three  Super Bowls. He and teammates Troy Aikman and Emmit Smith were collectively known as "the Triplets". Irvin retired from playing football in 1999. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007.

Since he retired from playing Michael has been a regular on television as an analyst for both ESPN and the NFL Network. It was recently announced that he had just signed a contract extension to stay with the NFL Network. He will also continue to make appearances on ESPN as well.
