Louisiana's Irish Bayou Castle

If you've ever traveled I-10 East toward Slidell you've certainly noticed the majestic Irish Bayou Castle in the distance.

It's pretty hard to miss.

Sometimes called Fisherman's Castle or The Little White Castle, this place has bravely withstood everything Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Isaac, and more have thrown at it.

WDSU reports the castle was originally built by Simon Villemarette in 1981 for the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans and was completely decorated inside with medieval decor.

Originally hitting the market in early 2022, the Irish Bayou Castle has since been renovated.

According to realtor Matthew Grass' listing, the Irish Bayou Castle has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and is 1,318 sqft, and sits on a 6,000 sqft lot.
