Louisiana Ticket Claims $250,000 in Saturday’s Powerball

Lottery players in Louisiana can now lay claim to another massive Powerball Lottery Prize. The Powerball game has made recent big money winners in New Orleans, Youngsville, and Alexandria in the past couple of weeks. And the good fortune for Louisiana's lottery crowd was certainly in place for Saturday's drawing in the multi-state lottery game.

Saturday night Powerball game officials announced that the estimated top prize for the drawing was $54,200,000. Which was considerably less than the one billion dollars plus jackpot the game gave away a little over a week ago. But still a win of that magnitude would be life changing.

Because the ticket's purchaser opted-in on the Power Play their $50,000 win for four white balls and the Powerball will now go into the books as a quarter of a million dollars in winnings. Yeah, that ticket is worth $250,000 and it was sold in Bossier City, Louisiana.

What is the Powerball Jackpot Now?

Powerball game officials have moved the estimated jackpot for Monday's drawing upward to $60 million dollars. That's the annuitized jackpot, the lump sum payout would be $29.5 million. The next drawing is Monday at 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, Mega Millions has an estimated top prize of $140 million on Tuesday. There were not jackpot wins on Saturday for Lotto or Easy 5 so those Louisiana Lottery game jackpots will continue to grow for their next drawing on Wednesday night.
