
Louisiana Man Arrested for Threatening Boy Over Stolen Goat
ASSUMPTION PARISH, La. - What started as a dispute over a goat ended with a Louisiana man behind bars after deputies say he threatened a child and caused a disturbance in Assumption Parish.
Authorities responded to a call involving an intoxicated man who was allegedly confronting a young boy over what he believed was a stolen goat.
Deputies Respond To Disturbance In Paincourtville
According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Thomas Street in Paincourtville after reports of an alleged disturbance involving 38-year-old Terry Leonard Jr.

When deputies arrived, they reportedly found Leonard intoxicated and causing a scene. Investigators say a woman at the location told deputies that Leonard had been yelling at her son over allegations that a goat had been stolen.

"According to APSO, 'In his [Leonard’s] mind he believed someone stole his goat and he went after a young male and insisted he had stolen his goat.'"

Alleged Threats Led To Arrest
Authorities say deputies attempted to calm the situation and reason with Leonard. However, officials allege that he continued making intimidating remarks, including comments directed toward law enforcement officers at the scene.
As a result, deputies took Leonard into custody and transported him to the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
Charges Filed Following Investigation
Leonard was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center with a bond set at $25,000. According to WBRZ.com, Leonard posted commercial bond on Saturday, May 23.
